Overland Park: There are 2 farmers markets. The Historic Downtown Market and the Blue Valley Recreation division. The Overland Park downtown farmers market is located between 79th & 80th Streets just west of Marty & Metcalf. The farmers market opens in early April, the hours on Saturdays mornings are 6:30 am to 1 pm. Then in early June, the market opens on Wed mornings, 7:30 am to 1 pm. On Saturday mornings, from 10:30-12:00 noon there is usually a variety of entertainment while you browse the vendors! This year (2013) a homegrown item will be featured each market day! If a vendor is selling that item - they will have a green flag at their booth! The idea is to help educate you on what's seasonal & what's homegrown in season!
