Events By Season

With the fall season of warm days and cool nights - makes Kansas City a fabulous area to enjoy all the festivities of the season!

 

KC Royals!  Enjoy cheering them on for the Playoffs!  Let's hope we'll go to the World Series!

KC Chiefs:  This with the new coaching - it brings a whole new expectation & hope!

Pumpkin Season:  Don't forgot to check out all the pumpkin festivals & patches in the area!! 

Sporting KC:  Enjoy a great game at a fabulous stadium!

Nascar: the Sprint Cup & Hollywood Casino 400!  2 big race events!

 

September

The Plaza Art Fair:  Each fall the Plaza hosts one of the most wonderful outdoor art galleries! You stroll along the wonderful walks enjoying over 240 artists from across the country while listening to music from any of the 3 music stages! This is such a fun weekend event!

Santi-Cali-Gon Day:  KC's annual Labor day Festival! It's a weekend packed with so many fun things. Concerts each day (of all kinds of music - country, bluegrass, gospel, local flavors and more),crafts, carnival & food vendors!  A fun weekend event!  Something for everyone!  

Kansas City Home Show (Fall): It's the fall event where over 200 exhibitors bring the latest innovation of home products, services, decorating, remodeling and design! 

Overland Park Fall Festival:  The last weekend of September, Overland Park Old Downtown Area sprngs alive! Enjoy the parade, 3 stages of FREE concerts, an aray of Arts & Craft vendors/booths, food, kids moonwalk, and much more!

Kansas City Renaissance Festival: Step back into the 16th Century!  Enjoy the royal jousting, the feasts and so much more!  Every weekend starting Labor Day Weekend thru Columbus Day! 10 am to 7 pm rain or shine!

Jesse James Festival:  No train robberies here but everything from rodeos, carnivals, bbq cook offs, parade, arts and crafts!   All places around the jesse james birthplace. 

Ciderfest:  Louisburg Cider Mills has 2 weekends each year during the time when the leaves are turing to golf and red - you can come out and watch how they make cider and enjoy some bluegrass music!

IrishFest:  What another great day (weekend) to be Irish! Down in Crown Center!  Scheduled over 30 different Celtic bands, workshops, exhibits, One of the largest Irish Fests in the nation!!

Westport Art Fair: A 3 day event that brings the local artists together to show off their beautiful creations all in the historic district of Kansas City! Friday night at 5 pm to Sunday evening at 5 pm!

                                          

October

Water Fire KC:  Now this is one of the most unique events! There's normally over 70 performing musical artists while enjoying the setting of over 50 bonfires on Brush Creek! This FREE Event will light up the Plaza from watery flames to opera, blues, jazz & more!  It's truly an amzing experience!! One you won't want to miss!

Jazz and Blues Festival:  a premier one day jazz festival produced by the American Jazz Museum! 18th & Vine area!

American Royal: It's all KC!!   Horse Shows, Livestock Shows, and The Big event THE World Series of BBQ Contest!  It started back in the stockyard days, then added the rodeos in the 1940's, adding the BBQ event in the 1980's, then eventually adding national country music entertainers!  So it's a huge event you don't want to miss!

Fall Parade of Homes:  It's sponsored by the Home Builder Association - where they will showcase new homes that are open to the public to visit! Many of the homes are using innovative materials and construction techniques to make the homes more energy efficient!

Pumpkin Patches: check out ciderfests, corn mazes & all the events each of the patches have available. Even have haunted houses listed! For those who just love the season!

Haunted Houses - The Beast, Catacombs, The Edge of Hell all located in the West Bottoms in downtown KCMO

Alexander Major House:  The annual GHOST TOURS & stories! Plus they have the annual not so spooky ghost stories & autumn festival with costume parade, storytelling and so much more in late October!

Paradise Park:  Enjoy the cool & crisp evenings with a tractor pulled hayride & sipping on hot chocolate mainly on Friday and Saturday nights! check out the website for details!

Weston AppleFest: Step back in time and enjoy many of the lost arts. Check out the Garden Harvest Vendors - anything from Apple Dumplings, Apple Pies, Cookies and more!  Plus the children events of pony rides, carnival style games, pumpkin painting! Stick around for the music!

1855 Missouri Town - Arts and Crafts Festival:  Step back into the 1800's! Enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment of this historic antebellum setting. The smell of wood fires and hot apple cider will build up an appetite for some old-fashioned vittles. See the Master Blacksmith working at his forge or kick up your heels to authentic music.

Barktober Festival: Come enjoy the outdoor activites!  Live Music & Pet Activities at Shawnee Misison Park!  Parking is free, pets must be on leash - and there's plenty to see and do!  You'll have canine aquatics competition, ask a vet program available, bad dog boot camps - they'll help you with those bad habits and more!  

Louisburg CiderFest:  The fest starts out with pancake breakfast, pony rides, donut making and craft booths and more! Live music on stage 12 (noon) to 5 pm during the festival! Pumpkin patch, corn maze and othe family fun activities!

Powell Gardens:  Has each year their Harvest Celebration & Antique Tractor Show!

AppleFest: Weston MO. Everything is Apples here!  The famous apple dumplings, apple cookies and pie will be available!  Enjoy the blue grass reggae music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A parade is at 10 am on Saturday morning and arts and craft booths will be available!
