Our area consists of 8 counties between two states to make up the metropolitan area. Our population is approximately 1.7 million people citywide. With the ever-widening suburban development with redevelopment sections in the urban core, gives the metro area many opportunities. So, if your stereotype image of Kansas City is still the Wizard of Oz, tornadoes, farms, tractors and more, you're in for a big surprise!
