A weekend not to forget!  The Grand Opening of the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts located at 1601 Broadway in Kansas City!!  They are bring in a a host of special talent for the weekend and the upcoming season!  You've got to see this absolutely wonderful theatre!!  The design of the Muriel Kauffman Theatre’s Kauffman Centerexpanded facilities will provide dramatically enhanced performance capabilities—including a 5,000 square foot stage; a larger orchestra pit  & a 74-foot tall fly tower to name a few!  The theatre’s fly tower will allow for scenery as tall as 30 feet to be flown above the stage!  The weekend is full of events for everyone to take part!  Friday Night concert will star Placido Domingo, making Kansas City his first ever visit here! There will be from Opera to Braodway that night!  On Saturday night Singer/Pianist  Diana Krall and virtuoso violinist Itzhak Perlman will be our special guests!  Of course anyone can come by Sunday for a FREE public open house!! no tickets will be issued. By registering for this event, you will receive updates regarding the Open House program including performance announcements and parking instructions. Make sure you partake in the activities that weekend!  It will be like no other!!!!  Can't wait!
