A new poll was published in the Wall Street Journal from Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services had surveyed a number of people who had taken the survey.  68% of them thought the real estate market would improve over the next year or two.  But 86% thought that owning your own home was still a good investment, why not.  Especially since we all need that place to hang our hat each night.  Owning a home isn't for everyone!  Many have different needs, income levels, responsibilities and a vast of other opinions.   As we all know, real estate is a long term investment not a short term.  I think many found that out the hard way.  Thinking that good times would never end.  But it is potentially a great time to take advantage of the devaluation that has occurred.  Our home values in Johnson County are generally down to the levels from 5-7 years ago - of course depending on location, price & condition.  So it could be an awesome time to take advantage of buying properties in Overland Park for long term growth.  There will always be a need for homes in Johnson County that are rental, rehabbed etc.  If you are considering an investment property, let us know.  Feel free to search for homes for sale in Overland Park and keep an eye on the market!
