Kansas City homeowners concerns about I-70 potentially Toll Road
Kansas City homeowners who drives from Kansas City to St Louis on I-70, knows that it is like playing dodge ball - especially on the car & driver! Unfortunately - it's not the most easiest trip from the deteriorated road! MODot is considering making I-70 a toll road from Independence MO, the I-470 intersection to Wentzville I-64 intersection - approximately 200 miles. They're talking about a $20 or $30 charge each way on vehicles. Can you imagine? Many of us Kansas Citians use I-70 to head to St Louis for a weekend get away, getting to the Lake of the Ozarks or on the way to other destinations. We all know that MODot wants to widen I-70 to 3 lanes in each direction and repave it. Both improvements are necessary. There is an option that a private company could install tolls in exchange for repairs. But making that a toll way - is a ridiculous option. Can you imagine how many people will find other alternative routes including truck traffic. That's not a good option either! Kansas City what do you think??
